Parkaleo: A Faith-Based Miscarriage Support Group
“Parakaleo” is a Greek word that means to come alongside in a calling. In this Christ Centered miscarriage support group, we come alongside one another in a grief that is often quite isolating. We all experience grief differently, and sometimes getting back to a “normal life” feels impossible after a significant loss. In Parakaleo, we provide support and comfort for what was lost, help identify narratives that might be causing additional pain, share helpful coping strategies, and share in a memorial service to help bring some closure for members and their families. This support group helps mothers who have loved and lost a child, to find the courage and strength to move forward through this difficult time. Each group is limited to 6 mothers.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAID...
“I would wholeheartedly shout from the rooftops about this group. I have experienced support, love, and healing in ways I didn’t see coming. This group was a God send in my time of need...If you have had a miscarriage you need this group. The curriculum was spot on, the facilitator was empathetic, and the journey was healing. No matter the stage of life any life lost is a life worth grieving.”
A ChrisT-Center Sexual Abuse Recovery Group
Renovate: A Christ Centered Sexual Abuse Recovery Group
Common obstacles to walking in true freedom and abundant life often start with questions like this: What if it wasn’t really sexual abuse? What if it was all my fault and people would judge and reject me if they knew? What if it hurts to bring it up? What good is it to bring up the past? Shouldn’t I just forgive and forget? Whether or not we want to admit it, sexual abuse experiences impact us. During our 13 week Renovate Group, we take our secrets into the light in a safe, structured environment to facilitate insight, healing, and restoration. You are loved, and you are worth it.
SURVIVORS
Making Sense of Your Worth & Parenting for Positive Self-Worth
A program for survivors of domestic violence and adult survivors of childhood abuse.
This 16 week program combines Making Sense of Your Worth Program with Parenting for Positive Self-Worth. Participants spend the first eight weeks learning about and healing from their own trauma histories. The second eight weeks focuses on learning a variety of parenting strategies designed to help adults parent their children in such a way that promotes healing from any exposure to trauma they experienced. In addition, the parenting strategies are designed to help parents establish positive self-worth in their children. This program is designed to stop the generational cycle of abuse that permeates so many hurting families. It was created by Cindy R. Lee, LCSW in partnership with HALO Project International and participants in the program show an increase in positive self-worth upon completion. These classes will be led by Kristin Rich, LPC
