Parkaleo: A Faith-Based Miscarriage Support Group

“Parakaleo” is a Greek word that means to come alongside in a calling. In this Christ ​Centered miscarriage support group, we come alongside one another in a grief that is ​often quite isolating. We all experience grief differently, and sometimes getting back to a ​“normal life” feels impossible after a significant loss. In Parakaleo, we provide support ​and comfort for what was lost, help identify narratives that might be causing additional ​pain, share helpful coping strategies, and share in a memorial service to help bring some ​closure for members and their families. This support group helps mothers who have ​loved and lost a child, to find the courage and strength to move forward through this ​difficult time. Each group is limited to 6 mothers.

This group was a God send in my time of need...If ​you have had a miscarriage you need this group. The curriculum was spot on, the facilitator was ​empathetic, and the journey was healing. Raising Kids with BIG Baffling Behaviors Book Study

We are so excited to announce this NEW 12 week book study to discuss Robyn Gobbel’s ​Raising Kids with BIG Baffling Behaviors! Robyn has such a wonderful way of ​explaining the neuroscience behind what is going on with our kid’s behavior as well as ​with our own. Come break down each chapter with a Licensed Professional Counselor ​and parents who are just as baffled as you are so that we can help give our kids and ​ourselves the felt safety, connection, and co-regulation we need to be our best! During ​our time together we will have discussion, creative arts, and practical tools you can ​apply daily!


SECTION 1: How to become an expert in your child’s behavior...

  • Learn that all behavior makes sense and how to make sense of the behaviors. The Relational Neuroscience ​behind Protection & Connection and that we are all made to Connect!

SECTION 2: How to “fix” those behaviors...

  • Dive into the world of owls, watch dogs, and possums oh my! Learn the different protection mode pathways ​our brain and nervous system take when we do not feel safe and how to increase connection mode.

SECTION 3: Why Knowing Isn’t Even Half the Battle

  • Compassionately explore why you can know what to do and still not do it. Learn a practical framework to ​increase your tolerance and not flip your lid when you kiddos has flipped theirs!

Making Sense of Your Worth : Woman’s Class

Self-Worth is the foundation of who we are as human beings and in today’s world is highly sought after. It plays a role in every decision we make and in every relationship we have. This eight week program is designed for anybody who desires the freedom that comes with living in positive self-worth and secure attachment.

The Making Sense of Your Worth Curriculum follows a step-by-step process of gaining positive self-worth. It was created by Cindy R. Lee, LCSW in partnership with HALO Project International and participants in the program show an increase in positive self-worth upon completion. These classes will be led by Kristin Rich, LPC

Th​e Connected Brain


Join Occupational Therapist, Danielle Dillard for "The Connected Brain," a ​comprehensive 5-week course designed to explore the intricate workings of the brain. ​Each week, we'll dive into a different area of the brain, examining their functions and ​understanding their impact during moments of perceived danger. As parents, this ​course will equip you with the knowledge to respond effectively and compassionately to ​your child's needs. Throughout the course, we'll cover topics from the brain stem to the ​frontal cortex, addressing everything from breathing regulation and emotional ​meltdowns to higher levels of cognitive processing. By gaining a deeper understanding ​of the brain's complexity, you'll develop greater compassion not only for your children ​but also for yourself and others.

Topics Covered

  • In-depth knowledge of the brain's various regions and their functions.
  • Strategies to prevent, address and manage moments of unsafety.
  • Enhanced empathy and compassion towards your children, yourself, and others.

Cultivate Connection Course

Cultivate Connection Course from Empowered to Connect is a peer to peer parenting course facilitated BY parents FOR parents! If you are a foster, adoptive, or neurodivergent parent this course dives deep into the building blocks of a flourishing family. The course gives helpful parenting practices and strategies for kids of all ages, with plenty of time to discuss ideas and ask questions along the way. These practical skills are rooted in research on brain based parenting, attachment, trauma, sensory processing, and more. The purpose of Cultivate Connection is to empower parents and caregivers to be confident, calm, curious, compassionate and connected.

Reclaim Compassion Book Study

Shed your shame. Renew your hope. Rediscover the parent you know you can be.

Is your adoption journey turning out differently than you imagined? You had so much ​love to give, but now you feel ashamed and bewildered by your lack of compassion. ​You may be experiencing blocked care—a self-protective mechanism in your nervous ​system that makes it difficult to connect with your child and maintain compassion. ​When it happens, it’s like your heart seems to have left the relationship. But the good ​news is you are not a bad parent. You can heal from blocked care, and compassion can ​be rekindled in your heart. This 10 week Small Group Study dives deep into the ​amazing book, Reclaim Compassion written by Lisa Qualls and Melissa Corkum. Join ​Kristin Rich, LPC and other parents for discussion, creative arts, and compassion in a ​nonjudgmental community!


This was just what I needed for me and my family. Reclaiming compassion gave me friends that ​understand the hard, pray for you, and help you. I highly recommend this for all parents of adoptive or ​trauma history kids.
